International Financial Crime and Terrorist Financing

In an era of huge financial uncertainty, this 4-day course examines issues of financial crime within the international criminal system and emerging crimes. It deals with the impact of financial crime in the context of the security of the financial system, transaction analysis and intelligence in countering money-laundering, and examines the dimension of terrorist financing.

Students will investigate how various terrorist groups finance themselves and/or gain finances from wider sources in order to operate whilst sustaining a clandestine organisation in the longer term. It deals with how terrorist organisations deploy finances for operational use and assesses international measures against terrorist financing. The intelligence dimension and analysis of movements of illicit monies are examined, along with investigating the underestimated or 'hidden' modus operandi (MO). Cyber Awareness and Intelligence

Twickelerveld Intelligence and Investigations will, in addition to its existing courses, offer two 4-hour in-house training sessions on cyber security, specifically tailored towards the corporate sector.

This "hands-on” program focuses specifically on basic cyber awareness. The goal is to equip the attendee with a general understanding of how the cyber domain works, and, more importantly: to recognize possible threats and how to avoid becoming a possible security risk.

With leading security companies such as Verizon and IBM still citing human error as the largest contributor in successful hacks, the importance of educating personnel in understanding the risks and creating awareness can simply not be ignored. The cyber intelligence cycle and the cyber kill chain, are examples of many tools that will be used and help dissect and illustrate attacks. A broad comprehension of the most pressing issues and current events will be enhanced by the usage of examples of cyber offenses and the analysis thereof.

The combination of getting a basic understanding of how the cyber domain works, learning to analyze risks and threats, against the backdrop of case studies and analysis of current issues and events in the cyber domain, will ensure awareness and a professional understanding that equips you to recognize future threats.
